INGREDIENTS:



METHOD:

  1. Sift the flour with the baking powder.
  2. Cream the butter with half the sugar.
  3. Add the vanilla, the grated orange rind and the eggs, one at a time, beating constantly.
  4. While continuing to beat, add the flour and baking powder, alternating with the yoghurt.
  5. Finally, add the brandy and beat the batter until it is smooth.
  6. Butter a small baking pan, pour in the batter and sprinkle the almonds over the top.
  7. Bake the yoghurt cake in a moderate oven for approxi­mately 50 minutes.
  8. When the cake has cooled, boil the rest of the sugar with 1 cup water for 5 minutes.
  9. Pour the hot syrup over the cake.
